General Accounting

  • Ensure that general accounting is updated and properly maintained according to IFRS
  • Review payroll journal before accounting on Oracle
  • Review FOREX rate uploaded by Assistant Credit Controller
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Stock Control and Monitoring
  • Check for proper accounting of stock in Oracle.
  • Perform reconciliations of stock to ensure no significant differences.
  • Perform full stock inventory on a quarterly basis and 2 surprise selective inventories.
Process, policies and procedures / Internal Audit
  • Implement controlling procedures & policies
  • Ensure compliance to company’s local policies and procedures
  • Review access rights access
  • Ensure that the internal audit team are given all facilities to carry out its audit exercise and actions list / recommendations of the internal audit team are duly acted upon.
Treasury Management
  • Ensure smooth running of treasury management on a day-to-day basis in order to minimise payment of interest on bank overdrafts and other bank charges.
  • Ensure that returns such as VAT, PAYE, APS, Income Tax, Annual TDS are done on timely basis.
  • Coordinate with finance team to optimise financing resources through effective treasury cash forecasting and management.
  • Ensure with Banks for day-to-day transactions and for the purchase of forex.
OH&S, ISO
  • Ensure that OH&S indicators are duly filled
  • Perform Job Safety Analysis and Safety tours
  • Act as an internal auditor for ISO
Controlling
  • Flag on material variances of Actual vs. Budget.
  • Analyse the Key Performance Indicators and comment on variances
  • Ensure all ledgers are properly reconciled
  • Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
  • Monitor stock variances
Financial Reporting
  • Ensure that inter-company balances are duly reconciled on a monthly basis and revalued on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure with Sales Team & Credit Controller of proper recording of client information on Oracle to comply with MRA.
  • Provide detail analysis for Income Statement & Balance Sheet results.
  • Check accurateness of Income Statement & Balance Sheet
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts and treasury forecast for next 12 months.
  • Prepare and comment on financial and various accounting reports (Management, Financial Covenant reports and any other ad hoc reports as when required) within the deadlines.
  • Ensure that CAPEX and monthly depreciation are properly accounted.
  • Prepare presentation for COMDIR for monthly basis and also in the preparation of the budget / forecast
General Administration
  • Update internal procedure of ISO when required
  • Ensure proper follow up with:
    • Auditors (Internal & External) are given support/information to conduct audits
    • Shipping agent receives documents for the imports on timely basis.
    • Central Statistics Office for the figures on import prices.
    • Request import permits
Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday: 08h00 - 17h00
Salary
  • Base Salary between Rs 50K - 65K with Medical Insurance Plan & Pension Plan

Job Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA Qualified
  • Minimum 3 years of experience
  • Organisational, leadership and Planning skills
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Team orientated
  • Accuracy & attention to detail
  • Good time management.
  • Able to present during meetings
  • Able to work under pressure to meet reporting deadlines
  • Accounting & Auditing experience
  • Good knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Good working knowledge on IAS/IFRS
  • Sound knowledge of local Laws & Regulations
  • ERP knowledge is a plus.
  • MS Excel Skills including VLOOKUP & pivot tables
