LORRY/TRUCK DRIVER - HEAVY VEHICLE

We are looking for 'Lorry driver' who will safely and efficiently deliver finished goods, products, and materials to customers in a timely and professional manner.
• Move steel products to and from production areas, loading docks and containers.
• Maneuver lorryinto loading or unloading positions following signals from loading crew, checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
• Secure material for transport using ropes, blocks, chains or covers
• Receive instructions and proceed to location for delivery or receipt of material
• Maintain all logs of working hours, vehicle service, repair status and trips
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order
• Practice safe driving habits
• Follow traffic laws
• Lorry should be kept clean both inside and outside
• Notify supervisors regarding any accident or incident entailing damage of vehicle
• Report any defective parts or conditions of the vehicle immediately
• Perform any cognate duties.
 

1) Must hold required drivers license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated.
2) Must be able to lift and move up to 7 tons at a time.
3) Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
