Fresh Veggie Ltd

In the early 1980’s my father was among the first farmers to cultivate chayote and other vegetables on a large scale. During the 90’s the plantation has spread over 5 hectares. The production kept increasing until 20 hectares of land were reserved for only the cultivation of chayote.

Confronted to the growing demand of the local market, the father and his two sons have decided to unite to form a single unit, which will later give arise, in 2015, to a private company known as Fresh Veggie Ltd (FVL). It is situated in the Centre of Mauritius at La Marie Road, Glen-Park Vacoas.

More people are clamoring for fresh produce nowadays. Among other benefits, fresh produce chayote is said to increase energy and reduce weight gain. Thus, being a customer-oriented firm, the firm FVL, has invested in technologies and now we are focusing on the conservation of its products for export and has, in this sense, installed warehouses equipped to preserve the vegetable to be exported afterwards.

FVL concentrates mainly in the cultivation of chayote and also other seasonal vegetables. Its annual chayote production is about 600 tons and we are planning to increase the tonnage this year.

Our mission statement is providing a good service and excellent products to our customers as well as a regular supply of our products at the lowest prices. Our second objective is to be among the leaders in the export of vegetables n Mauritius.
