Service and Logistics Administrator

Background:

Envision Africa (Mauritius) Ltd is a medical devices business focused on providing a complete solution for Ophthalmologists performing Cataract, Retinal, and Glaucoma surgeries in Mauritius.
The Envision Africa head office is based in Johannesburg and offers support and shared services to the Mauritius office. We offer a range of Ophthalmic products, including Oertli platforms and consumables, as well as custom-made procedure packs manufactured in South Africa and exported to Mauritius.

Job Summary:

The position is varied in scope with an opportunity to grow with the Mauritius business and ultimately become expert at understanding the market and the products we offer. Training on our products will be provided. Understanding of our products will require a strong technical acumen and a medical background will be favourable.  
The person will be required to assist with day-to-day logistics, office management and once product knowledge is acquired, also assistance in the field as a technical and application specialist.

The responsibilities can be broken down as follows:
 

• As logistics coordinator you will be instrumental in managing and optimizing the Envision Africa (Mauritius) logistics operations and depot management across the country.
• Once trained, as Technical Application Specialist you will also be responsible for providing technical support and clinical applications support for Oertli phaco and vitrectomy platforms.

Reporting Line:

The Service and logistics administrator will report to the Envision Africa (Mauritius) CEO, James Wright.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Phase 1:
 

• Maintain accurate inventory records of stock, executing strategies to ensure product availability based on demand and forecast while reducing excess stock.
• Work in tandem with the Jhb office, to oversee the operation of the Mauritius office focusing on the storage of stock, order preparation, and shipment processes, while ensuring that all activities adhere to safety protocols.
• Engage with Envision Africa Customer Services to streamline the order fulfilment cycle, aiming for precision in order processing and punctuality in deliveries to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Manage couriers and waybills, ensuring centralized control and addressing any waybill-related queries or issues.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal logistics-related inquiries, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues pertaining to outbound deliveries.
• Ensure accuracy in stock records and proper documentation of delivery records.

Phase 2 :
Once product and technical training is completed:
 

• Provide technical support for Oertli phaco and vitrectomy platforms in the field, including maintenance and repair.
• Acquire knowledge on the full Envision Africa product portfolio and offer sales support.
• Provide clinical applications support to end-users, including product demonstrations, training, and troubleshooting.
• Identify customer needs and facilitate the sales process.
• Maintain an inventory of parts and tools necessary for field maintenance and repair.

Desirable Qualifications:
 

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with ophthalmic surgical equipment and /or consumables.
• Clinical experience in ophthalmic surgery or a related medical field.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, warehouse operations, and transportation logistics.
• Valid driver’s licence and preferably own vehicle.
• Fluency in both French and English.

• Preferably a Mauritian citizen.
