Job Description
Position Overview: The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production facility, ensuring that all products meet quality standards and are produced in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. This role includes supervising production staff, managing production schedules, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and optimizing production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate daily food and beverage production activities to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure that targets and deadlines are met.
- Ensure products are produced according to quality standards and meet customer specifications.
- Manage the process of mixing, cooking, packaging, and storing finished products.
- Ensure that production equipment is set up and maintained according to company standards.
Team Management:
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of production workers, ensuring high levels of performance.
- Provide ongoing training and guidance to team members on safe production practices, quality standards, and new production techniques.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and addressing any performance issues.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages high morale and teamwork.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all food and beverage products meet quality and safety standards, including taste, appearance, and freshness.
- Perform regular inspections and checks during production to ensure consistency in quality.
- Monitor the storage, handling, and preparation of ingredients to prevent contamination and ensure product integrity.
- Work closely with the quality assurance department to implement corrective actions when necessary.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Enforce and promote safe work practices in accordance with local health regulations.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of equipment, ingredients, and finished products.
- Oversee the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices principles.
- Address and resolve any health and safety concerns in the production area.
Inventory and Materials Management:
- Oversee inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished products to prevent shortages or excess waste.
- Coordinate with the purchasing team to ensure that all necessary supplies are available when needed.
- Monitor ingredient and packaging waste and implement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Process Optimization:
- Continuously assess production processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
- Work with other departments to streamline production processes and reduce downtime.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase output.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including product quantities, ingredient usage, and waste.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly production reports, providing data on production performance, quality issues, and inventory levels.
- Ensure that all documentation complies with industry regulations and company policies.
