SUMMARY

The Inspector performs basic inspection work in petroleum and petrochemical terminals and refineries; also performs inspection work on board barges and ships following industry standards and the procedures published by our company and API.

Work Location : Mauritius

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Includes the following, other duties may be assigned)

-Perform visual cleanliness inspections of tanks including entering confined spaces.

-Verify the accuracy of measurement equipment.

-Take product measurements and samples; accurately and promptly perform related calculations; complete required reports and forms clearly and promptly; perform inventories; do non-petroleum or chemical inspection assignments.

-Attend training and pass appropriate examinations in petroleum, chemical and gas inspection procedures, including Right-to-Know training, hazardous materials transportation, and other safety training required by applicable regulations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

-A Higher School Certificate (HSC) or Higher School Certificate Professional Qualification (HSC Pro)

-5 or more years as an Inspector or related experience.

-IFIA Certification highly appreciated.

-Exhibit professional appearance and customer service orientation

-Ability to communicate and work productively with multiple stakeholders

-Ability to work independently

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to communicate written and verbally in English.

  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

-Inspectors must maintain a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

-Local travel and occasional out-of-town assignments are required.

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 12 kg, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 kg. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. troleum Inspector located in Le Kram. The Petroleum Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections of petroleum products, monitoring barge, refinery activities, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role involves taking samples, performing lab analysis, preparing detailed reports, and communicating findings with relevant stakeholders. The Inspector will maintain accurate inspection logs and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Inspection and familiarity with Barge operations and Refineries
  • Strong Communication skills for reporting and stakeholder coordination
  • Analytical Skills for accurate data analysis and report generation
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards
  • Relevant certification in the field is a plus
