Job Description
We are recruiting for a client a Travel Consultant to join a dynamic travel agency team. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for clients seeking travel solutions, providing expert advice and personalized service across all aspects of travel planning and booking.
Your responsibilities will include welcoming and assisting walk-in clients, preparing detailed quotations for air fares, hotel accommodations, package tours, car rentals, and sightseeing activities. You will also manage telephone sales inquiries, converting client requests into confirmed bookings. Additionally, you will guide clients through visa procedures and visa processing requirements, ensuring they have all necessary information for smooth travel preparation.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a reputable travel organization in Mauritius, combining client-facing excellence with technical proficiency in global distribution systems. You will work weekdays from 8:30 to 16:30, with Saturday availability (8:30 to 12:15) on a rotating basis—approximately two Saturdays per month.
Job Requirements
- IATA Advanced Diploma or equivalent travel industry qualification
- Minimum 2 years of professional travel consultancy or travel agency experience
- Fluent in both English and French (verbal and written)
- Proficiency with computer systems and familiarity with Amadeus or Galileo Global Distribution Systems
- Pleasant, professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong sales ability and customer service orientation
- Knowledge of visa requirements and travel documentation
