Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Messenger Driver to join our team. You will operate a small goods vehicle (truck) to transport materials, equipment, and supplies to various locations. This role combines driving responsibilities with material handling and vehicle maintenance, requiring a professional approach to road safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is roadworthy and safe for operation
- Verify safe loading and secure arrangement of goods before departure
- Execute deliveries efficiently, following planned routes and communicating any delays or issues to your supervisor
- Maintain responsible and defensive driving standards to protect yourself, colleagues, and road users
- Perform daily interior cleaning and assist with vehicle washing to maintain a professional appearance
- Check and maintain first aid kits and fire extinguishers on the vehicle
- Handle company equipment, materials, and tools with care and respect for client property
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations during daily operations

Job Requirements
- Valid driving license appropriate for goods vehicles (Category C or equivalent in Mauritius)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a driver or messenger
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations
- Full knowledge of Mauritian road traffic laws and safe driving practices
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues
- Physical capability to handle loading, unloading, and material handling tasks
- Strong time management and route planning skills
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities
- Flexibility and willingness to assist with additional tasks as required
