Job Description
The Junior Civil Engineer supports the Property Development team with site inspections, technical coordination, quality checks, reporting, and project documentation. The role assists the Project Manager, consultants, and contractors to help ensure work is completed safely, correctly, and in line with approved drawings, specifications, budgets, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities- Site Support
- Carry out regular site visits and inspections under supervision.
- Check work against approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Record site progress using notes, photos, measurements, and inspection reports.
- Identify defects, incomplete work, or unsafe conditions and report them promptly.

- Technical Coordination
- Assist with reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules, and contractor submissions.
- Help identify discrepancies or missing information in project documents.
- Prepare and track RFIs, inspection requests, site records, and technical follow-ups.
- Coordinate basic technical matters with contractors, consultants, and site teams.

- Quality and Compliance
- Support quality-control procedures, inspection checklists, and testing records.
- Help verify that materials and workmanship meet project requirements.
- Maintain organised records of approvals, test results, defects, and close-out actions.
- Escalate any matter beyond delegated authority or technical competence.

- Programme and Reporting
- Monitor site progress and report delays, constraints, or risks.
- Provide input for weekly and monthly project reports.
- Assist with quantities, measurements, progress updates, and contractor records.
- Follow up on assigned actions until they are completed.

- Handover Support
- Assist with snag lists, defect tracking, and completion inspections.
- Help review as-built drawings, warranties, certificates, and handover documents.
- Support the team during practical completion and defects-liability periods.
Candidate ProfileEssential
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in construction, civil engineering, or property development.
- Basic understanding of drawings, specifications, site works, concrete, drainage, utilities, and external works.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools.
- Good written and spoken English and French.
- Valid driving licence and ability to travel to project sites.
Preferred
- Experience on residential, mixed-use, hospitality, or building projects.
- Exposure to MS Project, Civil 3D, Revit, or BIM tools.
