The successful candidate will be responsible to :1) Assist in the preparation of all food.
2) Prepare the “mise en place” of food items according to receipes, quality standards, presentation standards and food preparation checklist.
3) Always adhere to Hotel standards of preparation receipes and presentation.
4) Follow proper Health & Safety, hygiene and sanitation practices.
Job Requirements
1) Secondary schooling or equivalent qualifications.
2) National Certificate level 3 in food production or equivalent qualifications.
3) Recognised apprenticeship will be a definite advantage.
EXPERIENCES
1) A minimum of 1 year of working experience as Kitchen Commis or similar position preferably in the hospitality industry.
2) Prior experience in catering industry will be an advantage.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS1) High level of Integrity.
2) Passionate about service.
3) Innovative, proactive and reliable.
4) Versatile and resourcesful.
5) Creative in terms of quality and food presentation.
6) Good communication skills.
7) Ability to work under pressure.
8) Valid Food Handlers’ Certificate.
9) Willingness to work during odd hours, weekends and public holidays.
10)A clean certificate of character is a must.
