Job Purpose:To manage financial operations and support commercial activities within the agrochemical sector, ensuring accurate accounting, compliance, and strategic commercial decision-making to drive profitability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:Accounting Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and inventory accounting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor and reconcile agrochemical inventory movements and costing.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT and import duties specific to agrochemical products.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Support internal and external audits.
Commercial Responsibilities:
- Review and manage contracts with distributors, suppliers, and logistics partners.
- Monitor product pricing, margins, and profitability across agrochemical lines (e.g., fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides).
- Collaborate with sales and agronomy teams to align commercial strategies with market demand and seasonal cycles.
- Analyze market trends, customer purchasing patterns, and competitor pricing.
- Support tender submissions and commercial proposals for government and private sector clients.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to agrochemical trade and distribution.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting and commercial roles, preferably in agrochemical sectors.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
